What is success in life? No one can answer this question for you except YOU. Obviously everyone is different so naturally everyone has different goals.
Is it having plenty of money or being financially free? If this is your definition then you would have to know how much money you need to be considered a success.
Is it raising a family and having successful children? Then you will have to define what you consider would make your children successful.
Is it just being happy? You will have to know everything you need to have or do to be Happy?
This list can go on forever. There isn’t a wrong answer. You just need to be convicted in what success looks like to you to achieve it.
- the accomplishment of an aim or purpose
- the attainment of popularity or profit
- a person or thing that achieves desired aims or attains prosperity
To me, that doesn’t seem to cover everything that might define success. Feel free to decide for yourself.
Are you going to miss your mark on what you call success?
This is something most people don’t think about on a regular basis. It causes fear. We are conditioned to stay away from fear and pain so it’s easier for our brains to just leave it be.
We shouldn’t be afraid to think about it or else we may be doomed to one of the most painful pains. The pain of regret.
For some of you it this conversation with yourself is long over due. It’s time to start asking some of those hard questions and really dig deep for the answers.
What does success look like to you? Start with asking yourself what you want life to be like this time next year. The 5 years, 10 and so on.
Now, how are you going to get there?
Time to make a plan. Get a plan together that will get you where you are going. Make some goals.
Try starting with the end (what success looks like to you) in mind and try to work backward to where you are now. This can help you figure out the next step to take.
Now you want to consciously focus with the clear intent of reaching that success. You need to develop an unstoppable mindset. Make sure you are flexible enough that when a set back occurs it won’t deflate you.
Everyone that has achieved success with anything has had set backs or, corrections all along the way. These set backs didn’t deter the successful person because they knew that things would come up.
Find a role model.
Find some help. Look for people that have gone where you want to go. Figure out how they did it and you will have far less set backs. This will help you gain momentum and confidence.
They will help you to keep going when the times are tough. When the times get tough you will loose willpower so make a plan for combating that. There’s nothing wrong with using someone’s experiences to help you with your master plan.
Enjoy the journey.
It’s really important that you enjoy what you are doing along the way. There is no reason to be miserable for 10 years or for however long it takes to get to your success.
If you are miserable the whole time you might only learn how to be miserable in the end. If you don’t enjoy the journey then you most likely won’t enjoy the end result.
Tip of the iceberg.
This is meant to be just the beginning of something great. I just want to get your faith juices flowing. Anything you achieve or don’t achieve will ultimately be up to you.
For way more help with this and many other topics to help you get to your success I suggest Tony Robbins.
There is a great deal on some of his books on Amazon. Check out the 3 book set with my favorite one in it. “Awaken The Giant Within“. It’s a great deal. One I wish I had seen before I bought the books separately.
That book alone will get you going down the right path and help you form the right plan for you. You will discover things about yourself you never thought about and had no idea about.
I highly recommend it!
